Wesley B. Webber, PhD, NCC
Assistant ProfessorWesley B. Webber, PhD, NCC, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Addictions and Rehabilitation Studies (DARS) at East Carolina University. He earned a BA in Psychology and English (double major), MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and PhD in Counselor Education from the University of Alabama.
Prior to becoming an Assistant Professor in DARS, Dr. Webber gained teaching experience in CACREP-accredited counseling programs in Tennessee and Alabama. He also worked as a Postdoctoral Scholar in DARS prior to appointment as Assistant Professor.
Dr. Webber’s previous published research has focused on topics such as mental health during the COVID-19 pandemic, suicide risk, and various forms of prejudice. His primary research interest at this time concerns the integration of brain-based research methods (specifically, electroencephalography [EEG]) into counseling research. Through previous interdisciplinary research training and continued interdisciplinary research collaborations, Dr. Webber aims to advance theories and practices in counseling by expanding the types of measurement available to counseling researchers.
