Graduate Program Admissions

Applicants must first apply to the East Carolina University Graduate School. The requirements for entrance into the ECU Graduate School are as follows:

  • a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university;
  • completion of an online application to the Graduate School;
  • two (2) professional letters of recommendation;
  • official transcripts showing baccalaureate degree and any other coursework completed at a college or university;
  • a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0, and;
  • a statement of intent, indicating reasons for seeking a master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling.

When the applicant is accepted to the Graduate School, the application is forwarded to the Department of Addictions and Rehabilitation Studies. A personal interview will be arranged by the department following an initial screening of applicant’s materials.
